“I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.” — Susan B. Anthony

I was born in Western New York State and I spent an idyllic childhood on a farm. By idyllic, I do not mean sleepy. Nor do I mean clean. From eating corn silage during our "let's pretend we're cows" game, to stepping in cow patties in the pastures to playing hide & seek in the cornfields, country living was an exploration of life in all its glory. And muck.

Fast forward: I've graduated from high school and my family has moved to Morganton, NC — a small town with really nothing to offer young adults. Like a beacon, Chapel Hill called out to me:

'Send me your liberal, your young, your intellectual masses, yearning to drink mocha lattes.'

I attended UNC and graduated with a degree in English Literature. After graduating, I happened upon Weaver Street Realty. Here I found a group of talented, opinionated and funny people. And I was hooked.

I left for a while (grad school, parenting), but by the time I was ready to get back in the labor market, guess where there was a vacancy? I found myself back at the same desk, with the same colleagues, friends and co-conspirators. And it felt like coming home.

This is a group with a love of land and community. A team with a strong work ethic and a belief in a different way of doing business. Above all, it’s a team made up of people who know who they are and what they stand for. We enjoy meeting new people, whether they are 5th generation farmers or newcomers from “up North”.

I wear two hats at Weaver Street; I'm a Broker and also the Business Manager. But there's so much more to me than that. I ran my first Spartan Race in April 2015, and have added other obstacle course races along the way. Check out the Spartan site below if you're curious, be forewarned, it can be addicting. There's some other interesting stuff too. (You can only talk about houses for so long!)
